I'm an aunt! Dh's sister had a baby boy a few days back. We are ecstatic and can't wait to meet the little guy when we go to India in a couple of months. I've started making him this little cardi.

I'm using a cotton/acrylic blend which is ok to knit with but I'm not chuffed with the fabric to be honest. Maybe its because I rarely knit with cotton-- the stitches are very crisp and every single change in tension shows. Bother. Not my best knitting job, so hopefully the other sweaters I make him will be better looking-- esp since they will be knit in acrylic.
I'm going to finish this with either an iron on applique and teddy buttons or a felt teddy. Probably going with the applique as my embroidery skills are not the best. I'm almost done with the actual knitting- half the second sleeve is left. I sincerely hope a good steam block works some magic.
I've been going gaga over the melted crayon art craze. Seems like its all over pinterest. I'm especially inspired by one that I cannot seem to find again, but involved red crepe paper flowers.
So I decided to make some knitted (of course!) flowers for it. Here's progress so far. I've melted the crayons already and working on the flowers now.
Simple icord rolled up to form blooms.
Lots of little things going on. Hopefully an FO to show for Friday, but with buttons not yet bought, maybe not.
What have you been working on?
