Just a quickie post with update pics. It is coming along well. I decided to work the sleeves first so I could wear the cardi and decide how long I wanted it to be. Finished the first sleeve with pretty major decreasing since I wanted a snugger fit. Copycatting the second sleeve. I've finished all the increases asked for the body (its as long as the pattern calls it to be) but I may add a few more increases to get a flattering A shape and so it doesn't hug the hips/belly flab very closely. Then to work the shawl collar. This is part of a two month KAL so I'm sure to wrap it up in time, but I haven't even touched my silk shawl in weeks, partly because we've been experiencing what weather channel calls 'arctic conditions' and a chunky knit was more comforting. Hope to finish that soon too, but lets see. I thrive under deadlines but my wrists don't.
Finished sleeve-- worked 5 rounds in garter stitch (k 1 round, p 1 round) to prevent curling.

Progress so far.
Sending this post to WIP Wednesdays and I really hope to have a post ready for FO Friday soon. Not this one though. Sad face.
The color you've chosen for your sweater is beautiful! I hope that progress continues to be swift and it turns out as you have it envisioned.
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle :) I hope so too!
DeleteIt will be fun to see the final product..modifying patterns is above my skill level and I envy those who can!
ReplyDeleteAw, plunge right in the water's fine! The good thing about knitting is that if I don't like what I end up with I can frog and end up with yarn I can put to better use.
DeleteThat's on my list of to do, will have to look for your FO. Love your yarn.
ReplyDeleteI hope I have an FO for you to check out soon! It's such a cozy pattern and fun to knit.
DeleteThis is lovely, Medha! I am in love with this colour.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rupi. It has been a fun and fairly quick knit so far. May tackle the front band this weekend, NYC is getting a blizzard and upto a foot of snow so we'll probably be home.
